etsy treasury!

Some of my little stuffed creatures (monsters? dudes? aliens?...call them what you will) have been featured in a treasury! They're bottom row, center, in the above picture.

The etsy world is still very new to me...but this is pretty exciting. :)

wtf, Archie, WTF?

Besides lamenting Betty's loss, my aim is to accomplish the following this weekend (in no particular order):

1. Trim bangs (and potentially dye hair, far too many people pointed out "my cute little grays" last weekend)
2. Photograph more vintage duds for the shop
3. Finish a new teatowel (one word? two words?) design I'm working on and print it
4. Clean my two new MASSIVE silkscreens
5. Work on some other design ideas I'm currently shuffling around in my brain
6. Pretend it's actually the weekend, and not just two days jam-packed with things to accomplish.

spring walks and spring sheets

Photos from my walk with Spidey the wonder dog yesterday, and my adorable new shoes from Sweet Tooth Vintage. Love. Them.

Also - new sheets hanging on the line, getting ready to be turned into pillows for the shop. I love the patterns on these, especially the blue geometric one. So great.

weekend finds

The winter was obviously too long, because I managed to forget how amazing Montreal garage sale season is. Above are some of my favorite finds from the weekend.

***

I found an old file box absolutely *brimming* with old buttons. I'm not sure what to do with them - I might sell them as supplies on etsy or give some away to a good home. Let me know if you're interested and have a project in mind for them.

***

This weekend, I also purchased some *amazing* new vintage fabric to be used for the shop. I'll post photos shortly - time to get back to the studio!

Elfin Saddle, or "I want to hang out inside your artwork"

The above pics are from the current Elfin Saddle window display at Phonopolis, taken at night. I know they're not colour-corrected, but I'm not wasting the time, because I like the aquarium-like quality that the yellow gives them.

The display is to promote their album Ringing For The Begin Again. I've never heard their music (I won't blab on about my lack of an internet connection again...I write this from work...and yes, I still don't have internet at home), but their art - their art makes me giddy. It totally reminds me of Hieronymous Bosch, but in a less moralistic way. Look at me finally putting all of those art history classes to good use...

Check out more of their collaborations and individual work on their site. It's all pretty amazing.

shop officially open!

Not-so-terribly-good photo of my craft sale table. I really need to sit down and get to know my camera one of these days...

Phew.

These days, when I cross something off my to-do list, another thing just gets tacked onto the bottom.

But! In spite of the never-ending, all-encompassing to-do list, I managed to set aside a few hours on Monday and *finally* list a few of my things on etsy! This took me - oh - only about 2 years to accomplish.

The list, she's a long one.

You can check out my swag here: www.coucousalut.etsy.com

I'll be adding new items and updating it frequently, so check back often. ;)

And while I'm in a "checking things off the list" mood, I'd like to thank Rachel of Brazen Design for her sweet words about my pillows. Thanks, Rachel!

You must go and peruse her stuff - girl is not only totally RAD, but also makes some of the most beautiful nature-inspired jewelry I've seen (as a Canadian, I *dare* you to look at her pinecone necklaces and not NEED one). And please note that this is coming from a total jewelry-phobic individual. Seriously, check it out.

crafted out

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Fresh off the Press sale this weekend! I had a super fun time in spite of the weather, and met a lot of really great people.

I plan to list all of my stuff on etsy tomorrow, so watch this space. ;)
