My brother and sister-in law were married in Las Vegas a year ago yesterday. Happy anniversary to them both!

I admit it, I kind of miss you Vegas. Just kinda.

sick

I've been hit with a super ridiculously nasty cold. Although it may actually be bronchitis - the jury's still out on that one. It's been a very long time since I've been so depleted like this, and it's really frustrating to not feel like a normal human being.

And the real kicker is that I was just coming off a week of trying to eat better - meaning a ton more fruit and veg. I guess it was just too little, too late.

I made a delicious bowl of oatmeal with baked apples and walnuts (good recipe here) before the worst of it walloped me, and it was delicious. I'll have to remember to start mornings like that more often.

And - hello - I've just discovered agave, which I picked up from the amazing local shopFait Ici . My life will never be the same.

scrap happy

I've been playing around with some rag doll designs lately. Right now they're mainly for my own amusement - to try out some appliqué techniques and use up some scrap fabric, but you never know, some variation on this might make it into the shop.

The quilt on the back of the couch was made by my Grandmother, many years ago. I love the strange but perfect combination of colours and patterns. She was one talented lady.
